CITIA is a cultural-cooperation public establishment (EPCC) funded by the Annecy Greater Urban Area (C2A), the Haute-Savoie Regional Council, the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council and the French state. Its aim is to serve as a resource and expertise cluster for moving images/pictures, a field of intervention that covers animation, interactivity and multi-media. Its additional purpose, as well, is to promote the circulation of animated films.
The task of CITIA is to create a consistent 3-pronged approach: culture, economy, training/research; to bring together local players; to position itself as a creative player by becoming a true production site; and, more generally, to develop a far-reaching project culminating in the Annecy Animation Film Festival and the International Animation Film Market.
