"Summing up the history of animation in 50 films, is already an exploit! Getting all these 50 in one programme, is completely crazy! A mad attempt at celebrating 50 years of the Festival in less than 70 minutes! Spark debates, get people talking, surprise and astound, all in 50 (very) short films? OK, off we go! Don't blink or you'll miss it!"
Marcel Jean
A retrospective of films from 21 different countries, orchestrated by Marcel Jean.
Make the most of the exclusive opportunity to revel in a half-century of animation and creation thanks to the drawings and words of animation's creators.

collection Beaux livres
Release date: 8th June 2010
Price VAT incl. France: 39 €
The biggest European festival after Cannes, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. For this special occasion, the organisers of the Festival, CITIA, are publishing a souvenir book presenting a visual panorama of the art of animation.
Creators & Creatures is the result of the collaboration with fifty personalities from the world of animation taking us behind the scenes of creation.
From the stars to the up and coming talents, some of the greatest French and international animators have come together for the project: Michel Ocelot (Kirikou), Nick Park (Chicken Run), Matt Groening (The Simpsons), Bill Plympton (Mutant Aliens), Raoul Servais (Nocturnal Butterflies), Jacques-Rémy Girerd (Raining Cats and Frogs)…
This graphic and visual book takes us into the fantastic world of these animated creators and creatures and gives us the opportunity to blow out the Festival's fifty candles over a visual experience of 256 pages spanning fifty years of animation.
Visit the Creatures & Creators exhibition which will be housed at the Musée-Château. Discover, amongst others, the creators of Shrek, Wallace & Gromit and Kirikou.
Meet, all week long, 50 names that have marked animation up until now.
