Avec TFOU, ton monde est plus fou !
The Mifa is confirming its internationalisation with a strong presence from South America, South Africa and Eastern European countries, with Poland being the guest country. Interview with Mickaël Marin.
"This will be my 12th year at the Mifa and throughout this time we have been continually trying to internationalise the event, with efforts accelerated over the past 4 or 5 years.
Internationalisation is part of the DNA of animation, given the need for creating co-productions, which requires finding partners outside home territories to finance and create new projects. As the Market deals with all the stages of a project's development, it plays a leading role in putting people in contact for getting films off the ground.
We have built up excellent and sustainable exchanges with a number of countries, which have helped us to understand each territory's concerns and guide them in preparing their visit to Annecy. The Territory Focus was created to reinforce this and spotlight industries from different countries.
South America
This year, we are welcoming delegations from Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. This trend is also confirmed by the presence of films in selection from Brazil and Argentina.
Africa
As the realisation of the efforts we have been making for 2 years, we are happy to welcome the Heading South Focus once again this year."
Mickaël Marin
Pixar's RenderMan is celebrating 25 years! It's pioneering contributions to computer graphics have revolutionised the feature film industry.
Used in 19 out of the last 21 Oscar-winning movies for VFX, RenderMan is the industry standard and has been honored with multiple awards for technological innovation by the Academy of Motion Pictures. To commemorate RenderMan’s 25th anniversary, the celebrations commence at Mifa 2013.
