Annecy and the Short Film Festival of Madagascar have teamed up once again to launch a Call for Projects of short Malagasy films.
8 short film projects were chosen to participate in the Mifa Madagascar Workshop, which was held during the Short Film Festival of Madagascar in Antananarivo in May.
During this workshop, Malagasy animators were guided in the development of the graphics and writing of their project.
The selected this year was Ridha Andriantomanga's project, Ho an’i Dada / Pour Papa, which you will be able to discover at today's Mifa Pitches, 3:00 pm, Impérial Palace.

The biggest French broadcasters that offer youth programming have chosen to hold their press conferences at the Mifa and will present their recent changes.
Come to the press conference today:
You can also take part in the press conference with SPFA, Syndicat des producteurs de films d’animation, starting at 5 pm.
Today's Business Conference will confront the million-dollar question: How can you connect with the public from the production phase? What are the keys to success for a brilliant distribution?
Animated features demand an enormous amount of time and money to produce, and it's too late to fix many common problems once the film is completed. How can creative teams position themselves for success by taking the audience's expectations into account from the very beginning of the production? At what point should they start thinking about the distribution? What is the right way to identify and serve the target audience early on?
Four speakers will be leading this conference and attempting to answer these questions: Lionel Curt, CEO of MNSTR, Annemie Degryse, Vice President of Lumière Publishing NV, Arthur de Pins, Director at Maybe Movies and Anne Sanchez, Managing Director at Mercredi.

After two false starts, Evolution Man is now well on its way and is set for theatrical release next spring.
This project will be the main topic of the Production Organisation Conference, led by Marc Miance, Producer at Let'So Ya. He will be reflecting on the apparent paradox of letting director Jamel Debbouze, known for his spontaneous creativity, use a process that is technically innovating, but very complex and necessarily strict.
Chambre de métiers
Come to the exciting Work in Progress session, which will present a world premiere of Keiichi Hara's latest project, Miss Hokusai, coming soon to theatres.
Keiichi Hara, whose previous feature film, Colorful, received the Special Distinction and the Audience Award in Annecy 2011, has taken on the portrayal of an amazing female character overshadowed by her larger-than-life father, and the painstaking reconstruction of 1814 Japan's landscape and customs.

Le Pâquier
