It is with great sadness that we received news of the passing of Pierre-Édouard Baratange on Saturday 4th February, who was the Annecy Festival’s technical advisor for 20 consecutive years.
In 2023, Mexican animation will be in the spotlight, and we entrusted the Annecy Festival’s official poster design to Animator and Director Jorge R. Gutierrez, who will also be one of our jury members. An aficionado of Mexican culture and folklore, he has created a genuine joyous and heart-warming firework display of references announcing a very colourful edition!
CITIA, organiser of the International Animation Film Festival and its Market, the Mifa, this morning revealed the Annecy Festival 2022 edition’s economic impact.
The economic benefits for the local community are considerable.
It is with deep sadness that the Annecy Festival team has learned of the death of Hélène Tanguay, who was involved in the animation industry for over 37 years.
In 2023, the Festival will start on Sunday 11th June to host 7 days dedicated to animation film!
Following an exceptional 2022 edition, and in view of how dense this year’s offer is becoming, CITIA’s management decided to open the Festival as early as Sunday.
