French Animation: The Mirror Effect – The Invisible Child

  1. Overview
  2. Description
  3. Fact Sheet
  4. When and where ?

Ironically, given its title, André Lindon’s 1983 feature The Invisible Child hasn’t been widely seen.

As its title suggests, André Lindon’s main character in his feature The Invisible Child decides to become invisible after falling in love with a sort of mermaid he encounters during a summer holiday by the sea.

The filmmaker spent years hand-crafting this remarkable film and the Annecy Festival is grateful to the CNC for its help in the recent digitization so that it can be presented here.

It’s a unique piece of work that lit up the French animation scene like a shooting star and was awarded the Kodak Award for a French Feature at Annecy 1985.
