Inspired by the period steel engravings, showing how ice was cut, stored and distributed in Montreal in the year 1860. Every winter workers from the Lamplough and Campbell Ice Company would cut blocks of ice from the Saint Lawrence River, to be sold during the summer months. Ice was a necessity and a luxury item and ice from the Saint Lawrence was known worldwide for its quality.
