Brother and sister Jean-Claude et Reseda are bored on Christmas day. Their parents are far away and they have been left in the care of their grandparents. During a game of hide-and-go-seek, they discover an elephant in the backyard. The elephant, called Little Chick, has escaped from the zoo and Raymond Bouillasse, the wicked zoo keeper. Fleeing the house, the two children and Little Chick are drawn into a race that takes them through interstellar space in a flying saucer...
