Summary

Over 7,000 visitors were present to take part in the success of this year’s event.

Festival (10th to 15th June 2013)

The Annecy 2013 selection of feature films stood out for the diversity of the geographical origins of the films: South Africa, Brazil, India, Mexico, Russia and Canada in addition to Japan, the USA, France and many others.
Around fifty films were screened paying "tribute to the history and vitality of Polish production".
In 2013, a Special Cristal Award was given to one of the Masters of Polish animation, Jerzy Kucia, rewarding this great master of Polish animation and celebrating the importance of his work.

International Animation Film Market (12th to 14th June 2013)

The Mifa brought together 2,400 delegates and 450 exhibiting companies. This year, in addition to the Territory Focus meetings presenting the history of a country, two new formats were put in place:

  • the Share With sessions to find out more about the needs of investors, for the acquisition or co-production of content
  • the Mifa Talks, to understand the animation industry and its challenges organised around three formats: feature films, shorts and TV series.

Conferences (10th to 14th June 2013)

More than 1100 people attended the 8 conferences, presented by 31 speakers and 6 moderators. On the programme: optimisation of fabrication and artistic and technical challenges, the challenges of the European feature, VFX and animation, technology foresight and emerging tools.

Creative Focus

25 recruitment sessions, 265 projects presented, 16 prizes awarded and 13 meetings at the Creative Focus 2013. Check out the winners of the Call for Projects..
