Warriors called “Saints” are the champions of hope who have always appeared since the Age of Myth whenever evil threatens the world. Many years after the “Holy War” that took place in Sanctuary, a young woman, Saori Kido, will see her peaceful life shaken after discovering her real identity.

The highly anticipated 3D, CGI feature, Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary, based on the iconic Gold Saints’ saga, is to be premiered in Annecy. The Saint Seiya series, created in the 1980s and based on Greek mythology, first found fame as a manga of the same name that sold over 34 million copies. It was later turned into an animated TV series that soon found global success and was televised in over 80 countries.

    Keiichi Sato was born in Japan in 1965. His early career working with Sunrise, AIC and TOEI Animation led him to become a mecha and character designer. "The Big O" (1999), which he created, developed and directed, received such rave reviews that international audiences demanded a sequel. In 2005, he created and directed "Karas" which went on to win international acclaim. In 2011, he directed "Tiger & Bunny" which won the TV Anime Excellence Award at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2012.
