The people of Iolph possess the secret to longevity but this gift provokes envy from others. When their harmony is shattered by an enemy invasion, a young girl named Maquia is forced to escape. She finds an orphaned baby and chooses to raise him, thus strarting an emotional relationship between a mortal being and someone who does not age.
