Due to its strong international audience animation tends to be sensitive to social shifts and keeps one step ahead of the game.
Whilst gender stereotyping is finally a common discussion concerning women, animation is already one step ahead raising another question: what about the boys? Male characters must also fight against stereotyping, they too should be reconsidered in a world where gender equality is now mandatory.
How do you write, draw and create new characters? How do you portray these new masculine and feminine roles and their interplay? How can sharing a universal reality, values or goals lead to a more harmonious coexistence in the future?
