Pre-vis tools are becoming more common, although primarily used in VFX live action productions to try and obtain a better artistic control and lower cost by highlighting direction choices well beforehand. Could they be used in the same way in animation and are they going to create big changes in pre-production practices?

The Third Floor

Duncan Burbidge's presentation will explain how on-set virtual production technology has impacted his studio’s approach to designing scenes. From the earliest stages of development all the way through to final layout, hand-held virtual cameras are playing a key role in bringing animated scenes to life. Meanwhile, advances in performance capture are enabling directors to prototype CG animated features in a fraction of the time.

Take part in this conference to get an insight into current techniques that are influencing film makers and innovating animated productions.

HALON Entertainment

Daniel Gregoire will speak about the progression of the previs process throughout production, including pitchvis, previs, on-set previs, postvis and finals, with film examples to illustrate each topic.
