Day two of Spain in the spotlight with different Special Programmes and a Work in Progress session.
For the Special Programmes, From Doodles to Pixels curated by Carolina López, (co-production: Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Acción Cultural Española, with the support of: Filmoteca de Catalunya, Filmoteca Española, Mioverecord, Tres60BCN, Lobster Films)) gives you three opportunities to learn about the evolution of Spanish animation from the past hundred years: Destination Hollywood (and Beyond), Modern Times and Humour and Massacre.
Come to the Work in Progress for Capture the Flag, a story of reconciliation. You can learn some animation secrets and find out about how this animated Spanish feature film is being directed and produced.

This year's theme, Women and Animation, was chosen to pay tribute to all the women who have helped to change attitudes and promote female expression in the world of animation.
Don't miss the Keynote on The Future of animation: Combining Viewpoints. Three experts will be here to talk about the animation of tomorrow. You can catch Françoise Guyonnet from StudioCanal, Jinko Gotoh, an American Producer and Lisa Henson, CEO and Producer at The Jim Henson Company.
The Special Programmes screening about Janet Perlman is an invitation to discover her sophisticated yet absurd sense of humour that has given her a place of her own in the animation world.
The Special Programme The Mother and the Whore will present filmmakers from various generations whose point of view, style and techniques vary greatly.
This year, we've decided to let you hear from the youngest filmmakers in the Official Selection.
Every day at 4:15 pm you can come to the Bar du Festival to meet with the filmmakers of the graduation films in competition. These casual discussions will be filmed and you can find the videos the following day on the Online Daily's playlist.
We also wanted you to meet the directors of the out of competition feature films.
You can come to meet them in the laid-back setting of the Q&A Corner after the screenings are shown at PATHÉ ANNECY.
Signing sessions are being held all week long, giving you the chance to meet your favourite animators and take home a personalised souvenir.
Writers, directors, artists and others are here and want to meet their fans.
Chris Buck, Christian de Vita, Florence Miailhe, Genndy Tartakovsky, Pierre Coffin, Regina Pessoa, Richard Williams, Sanjay Patel and Steve Martino are all here and will be at the Boutique du Festival waiting to meet you.

The Festival offers Meetings each year and the Conferences give participants essential keys to directing, producing and financing animated projects.

The creators of this stop-motion feature that's being made in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region will share their production techniques after a year of filming.
Currently in production at the Pôle PIXEL studios in Lyon-Villeurbanne, with the puppets being made in companies based in Drôme and Annecy and finished in Annemasse, check out the project closest to home we've ever had at Annecy. Set for release in 2016!

The CITIA Exhibition invites you to "Focus on" Les Films de l’Arlequin.
This studio may ring a bell for Festival regulars since their shorts are often part of the Official Selection.
At noon, Producer Dora Benousilio will welcome you to visit the exhibition, joined by some of the studio's artists.

After a two-year hiatus from the Festival, the sick and twisted treasures selected by Spike are back at Annecy!
Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation will be introduced by an off-the-wall show exclusively made by Spike.
Get ready to see some viral, censored, creepy, disgusting and hysterical videos!
And if you want to meet Spike in the flesh, come to his signing session on Wednesday at 5:00 pm!

Without a doubt, a day that Disney•Pixar fans won't be sleeping through!
For several years now, the association Les Toiles Enchantées goes around to hospitals and centres, screening films for sick children.
This week, they'll be going to four different establishments around the Annecy area showing Mune and Inside Out to kids to get their minds off of where they are for a couple hours. Check out this week's heart-warming programme.

1892, Saint Petersburg. Sasha, a young Russian aristocrat, has always been fascinated by her grandfather's life as an adventurer. A renowned explorer, he designed a magnificent arctic ship, but he hasn't returned from his last expedition to the North Pole. To save her family's honour, Sasha runs away. Headed towards the Great North, she follows her grandfather's trail in search of his famous ship.

Through video clips with their main characters, some of our favourite animation studios decided to join the party for the Mifa's 30th.

The Mifa launched calls for projects and they received more than they knew what to do with. A selection of the best will be presented at the Pitch sessions.
Shorts, features, TV series and specials, transmedia and Animation du Monde: so many Pitch sessions to choose from! No matter which ones you go to, you'll discover original projects in the early development stages and the best ones will leave with awards from our partners.

The ever popular Mifa Recruitment sessions start tomorrow.
Once again, everybody's showed up to organise recruitment sessions at the Mifa.
2D/3D artsits, storyboarders, character designers, filmmakers, artistic directors... Big players in animation are looking for all of you! Cartoon Network, Cube, Illumination Mac Guff, LAIKA, Disney Channel, Pixar, Ubisoft, Walt Disney and many more will be here scouting for fresh meat.
The Studio Focus sessions are an opportunity for companies and animation studios to share their future plans.
This is also a great chance for festivalgoers to discover the technological creative processes of major studios and ask them and their animators questions about their most recent work.
