And the Honorary Cristal goes to... Florence Miailhe

This year, the Annecy Festival has chosen to award the Honorary Cristal to Florence Miailhe, filmmaker known for her individual style.

After having received her arts degree from Ensad where she specialised in engraving and exhibiting her paintings and engravings, Florence Miailhe quickly turned towards teaching in animation at schools including GOBELINS, l'école de l'image and Ensad.

She made her first film Hammam in 1991, before establishing her unusual technique that she calls "film painting". Her distinctive style, combined with her poetic universe, has contributed to the numerous awards given to her work.

Her short film Au premier dimanche d’août was part of the official selection at Annecy 2000, nominated for the Golden Cartoon 2001 and received the César for best short film in 2002. Her short Conte de quartier won a special mention from the jury at the Cannes Festival in 2006.

The ensemble of Florence Miailhe's subtle and personal creations will be recognised during the Annecy Festival 2015 with an Honorary Cristal.
