  Arte is Flying the Festival’s Flag 

Starting 12th June, the French cultural TV network Arte will be broadcasting a series of programmes dedicated to the Annecy Festival and also devoting the 800th edition of their show Court-circuit to the event.

Arte will be dedicating 3 evenings to animation in celebration of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Sunday 12th June at 8:45 pm, they will kick off their evening viewing with one of the masters of Japanese animation, Hayao Miyazaki and his film, The Wind Rises. The evening continues at 10:50 pm with the film Akira, adapted from the famous Japanese manga and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo.

Monday 13th June at 8:55 pm, Arte will be showing Jean-Christophe Dessaint’s first animation feature film as director, The Day of the Crows, which is one of the most delightful animation surprises from France.

Friday 17th June at 12:20 am, just before the Annecy 2016 comes to a close, Arte will be throwing you a genuine house party. The 800th edition of Court-circuit will be entirely devoted to animation.

They will also be showing 4 shorts that in competition at Annecy: The Head Vanishes, Piano, Broken and Last Door South. These shorts will be followed by interviews with famous directors and a documentary about the "Je Suis Bien Content" animation studio.

After Court-circuit, you can enjoy a re-run of the TV special A Town Called Panic "The Christmas Log", by Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar, which was in the Official Selection at the 2014 Annecy Festival!
