Take a Journey with this Korean WIP

Come to the WIP Feature session of the future Korean film "The Shaman Sorceress", inspired by the renowned 1936 novel.

This feature film in the making, The Shaman Sorceress, will uncover the story of Mohwa, who lives alone with her deaf daughter Nang-Yi and has been practicing shamanism her entire life. One day, her son Wook-Yi returns home as a converted Christian. This sparks conflict between mother and son which ends in a terrible tragedy that leads Nang-Yi to create a mysterious painting.

The Shaman Sorceress is taken from the novel of the same name, written by Kim Dong-ni in 1936. Highly acclaimed worldwide and nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, it recounts the reigning chaos that took place during the modernisation of Korea with startling descriptions.

Come and learn about a unique part of Korean history, presented in pictures during this WIP Feature, Wednesday 15th June at 11:15 am.
