Congratulations to Li Yi and his project "Finding Bresson", winner of Animation du Monde China!
For the second year in a row, the Annecy International Animation Film Market teamed up with CULTUREVE and NAQU Culture to meet with young Chinese creatives for another 3-day workshop in Ningbo as part of Animation du Monde.
A call for projects was launched for Chinese filmmakers working in animated shorts, features and TV series. Out of the 100 projects that were submitted, 9 were shortlisted by a professional team in China made up of David Weiqi Ma (Head of the CULTUREVE association), William Kan (Director and Founder of B2ES Film Group) and Yangqian Ge (General Manager of the Youku Alibaba animation and entertainment centre).
These 9 projects have just participated in the Animation du Monde workshop with Caroline Attia (Illustrator and Filmmaker), Delphine Nicolini (Producer at Les Armateurs) and Julien Bagnol (Producer at Supamonks).
A final pitch session after the workshop led to awarding Finding Bresson by Li Yi as the winner!
The ICU project by Jiajia Li was also awarded with a Special Distinction.
Li Yi is invited to Annecy this June to present his project during the Animation du Monde Pitch sessions and will receive a one-month writing residency at the Abbey of Fontevraud in October, as well as financial support from CULTUREVE as a co-producer. A unique chance for Li Yi to find international partners and bring his project to life!
B2ES Film Group, NEF Animation, CACA Animation Studio, Youku, the French Embassy in China, the Institut Français, Les Armateurs and Supamonks Studio are all associated partners of this programme.
Come to the Mifa from 13th to 16th June 2017 to discover this project during the Pitch sessions!
