  Andean Call – Ecuador 2018

Opening of a new call for projects for the Andean states, part of the Mifa Animation du Monde pitch sessions!

Always keeping to the same intent: to unveil the sensitivity, creativity and potential of project bearers from emerging countries in the sphere of animation, the Animation du Monde structure is addressing the Andean states this year.

Andean Call, Animation du Monde Ecuador 2018 concerns animators from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Open until October 29, 2017, this call for projects applies to all animation projects, whether they involve TV series or full-length features.

Once the projects have been turned in, pre-selection will begin with a specific jury in each country, joined by several Annecy International Animation Film Market team members: 10 projects will emerge on a short-list, with 5 projects selected in each of the two categories. The results are to be announced on November 20.

The chosen project owners will be invited to attend the Mifa Animation du Monde Workshop – in Quito, January 15-19, 2018. This workshop will be overseen by:

  • Olivier Catherin, head of the animation fund at Pictanovo
  • Frédéric Mege, film director
  • Géraldine Baché, head of Mifa projects at CITIA

Following that, a pitch session will help to winnow out the two winners – one per category – who will be invited to travel to Annecy and present their projects there in June 2018, part of the Mifa Animation du Monde pitch sessions.
