Richard Williams, the patron of the 2018 Mifa Campus

With Richard Williams as its patron, the second Mifa Campus is promising to be highly anticipated once again this year!

Following in the footsteps of Guillermo del Toro, it is the turn of Richard Williams to be the patron of the second Mifa Campus.

He has been welcomed on numerous occasions at the Annecy Festival and was notably a jury member in 2008. During the 2015 Festival, two of his films were screened: The Thief and the Cobbler as a screening event, and the short film Prologue during the closing ceremony.

Richard Williams, a three-time Oscar winner, is a true reference in the world of animation. He has won more than 260 prizes, including three British Academy Awards and an Emmy Award. He is known for successful animated films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), which won awards at the Oscars for its animation.

Because of his masterclasses given internationally, his successful handbook The Animator’s Survival Kit which is considered the bible of animation, a 16-DVD box set and iPad application, Richard Williams has been able to influence many of today’s best animators.

This day of events on Tuesday 12th June has the aim of gathering together students, emerging professionals and experts in animation around the themes of training, the creative process and recruitment.

As the patron of the Mifa Campus, it is only natural that Richard Williams will give a "Conversation with" to the young talents in animation, which is a unique moment for this generation searching for references and experiences to be shared.

Richard Williams is delighted to be the patron of the 2018 Mifa Campus, and he has personally addressed a message to you ahead of the meeting on Tuesday 12th June. Get accreditation now in order to avoid missing out!
