Annecy 2019, a Festival for Everyone!
The Annecy Festival continues to reach out to the general public with a rich programme full of highlights and open to everyone.
Young and old, professionals and amateurs, newcomers and fans, not just for badgeholders and bigwigs, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and its organiser CITIA, ensure that animation is accessible to everyone. This 2019 edition is no exception, the programme is overflowing with events for all the Annecy locals!
VR Dome
An entirely new place dedicated to virtual reality and free access throughout the festival week will be set-up at the haras! An exclusive space to discover animation like you have never experienced it before and escape from the real world for a fleeting moment.
Annecy s’anime
A selection of eagerly awaited screening events for festival-goers will be on the Pathé Annecy cinema’s billing from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th June, at a €5 flat rate per screening! A programme dreamed up exclusively for the general public, come discover premieres such as Toy Story 4, Playmobil: The Movie and many more.
Exhibitions
Animation won’t just be screened during the Festival but will also be exhibited all over the city! Get down to the haras to discover behind the scenes of the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, at the Volière de l’Impérial you can catch a glimpse of the acrobatic animals of Athleticus, and at the Médiathèque de Bonlieu come learn everything there is to know about stop-motion.
Open-air Screenings
And not forgetting the traditional nocturnal rendezvous on the Pâquier, where delights such as Ratatouille and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, are waiting for you this year. Other glorious discoveries and true classics will also be showing at the parvis du Château d’Annecy, the haras, La Turbine, and the Parc des Vignières Pommaries.
