The Composer Étienne Perruchon has Died

The Annecy Festival team have just learned with great sadness of the death of local composer Étienne Perruchon, on 14th May 2019.

Famous local composer, Étienne Perruchon, died on Tuesday 14th May, at the age of 61, following a long illness.

Étienne Perruchon was notably known for his collaborations with the director Patrice Leconte, for whom he composed several soundtracks for his films, such as Les Bronzés 3, and especially The Suicide Shop, which opened the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2012.

In 2010 the Festival forged an even stronger link with the composer, as he composed an original score exclusively for the Festival’s 50th anniversary, which was broadcast during the opening ceremony.

Unquestionably the work that will remain his best known is Dogora, a piece for the choir and orchestra commissioned by the Chambery School of Music, to celebrate the turn of the century, 2000.

The Annecy Festival team sends heartfelt thoughts to his family and loved ones.
