Jump back in time and experience four periods of Brazil's history through the eyes of Abeguar, a young Indian warrior from the Tupinamba tribe.

Rio 2096: A Story of Love and Fury, a Brazilian animated film directed by Luiz Bolognesi, received the Cristal for a Feature Film at the 2013 Annecy Festival. In a reflection of the theme of Brazilian animation honoured at the 2018 Festival, this film will help you discover the country and its history.

Alive for over 600 years, the immortal protagonist shares the events which have taken place during four periods of Brazil's history: precolonial tribal wars, from the Balaiada and the resistance movement to the military dictatorship in the 1960s, to a futurist era in 2096. In each period, there is an emergence of heroes fighting continuously alongside the weakest, while also searching for their lost love at the same time.

Discover this ambitious story following the country's chronology at the heart of the Château d’Annecy, musée lacs et montagnes.
