The International Animation Film Market (Mifa), which took place in Annecy from 17th to 19th June, has affirmed its status as world leader and its unique rôle as an exchange platform for the animation industry.

The Mifa broke its own records this year with a steep rise in participation:

• Delegates: 2,680, a 10% rise compared to 2014
• Exhibiting Companies: 555, a 9% rise compared to 2014
• 364 buyers, distributors and investors made deals in Annecy, up 10% since 2014
• Countries represented: 63

Mifa & Variety's Animation Personality of the year Award

The Mifa & Variety's Animation Personality of the year award was given to Chris Meledandri, Founder and CEO of Illuminatin Entertainment. This award was created in order to recognise an animation icon who has influenced the animation industry and its evolution.

Keynotes

Keynote speeches from Genndy Tartakovsky, Chris Meledandri and one about The Future of Animation: Combining Viewpoints, with Françoise Guyonnet, Jinko Gotoh and Lisa Henson, gave the audience the chance to hear from these creators in person and to ask them questions.

30 years of CANAL J

Canal J celebrated its 30^th anniversary along with the Mifa at a very festive party.
