ARTICLE 1 – General Information

CITIA is a Public Cultural Cooperation Establishment, of which the headquarters are located at: c/o Conservatoire d’art et d’histoire – 18 avenue du Trésum – 74001 Annecy, France, registered at the RCS d’Annecy (French Trade & Companies Register) under the No. 489 885 111.

CITIA (hereinafter "the Organizer") organizes the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (hereinafter the "Festival") and the International Animation Film Market (hereinafter the "Mifa"). Also proposing meetings aimed at professionals and teachers from the film, television and multimedia industries (hereinafter the "Meetings").

The Festival is the global reference for animation film and propose, as well as numerous screenings in theaters and in the open air (films in or out of competition), exhibitions, signing sessions, etc.

The International Animation Film Market is the key global rendezvous for film animation industry professionals, in terms of coproduction, purchases, sales, funding and distribution.

The Meetings propose conferences, Work in Progress sessions, Making of, Masterclasses, Keynotes, etc. with world renowned experts from the animation film industry.

The accreditation procedure is mandatory to access and participate at the Festival, Mifa and Meetings organized by CITIA (hereinafter the "Events").

The Events take place over the period of one full week from 15th to 20th June 2020, in Annecy city and the various venues of its agglomeration (hereinafter "Sites").

Note: there are two Welcome Areas:

  • Festival and Press Welcome Area: Bonlieu, 1 rue Jean Jaurès, Annecy
  • Mifa Welcome Area: Impérial Palace, allée de l’Impérial, Annecy

We understand by "Participant" any person, physical or moral, accredited by the Organizer and eligible to, as such, access and participate in all, or part of, the Events (cf. art 5).

ARTICLE 2 – Accreditation Conditions

2.1 Festival Accreditation

The Festival accreditation is open to everyone, professionals or amateurs.

2.2 Mifa and Meetings Accreditation

The Mifa and Meetings accreditation is for all animation film, television and multimedia industry professionals, authors, directors, producers, buyers, distributers.

2.3 Special Accreditations

2.3.1 Buyer Accreditation

The "Buyer" accreditation is reserved for buyers, distributers and investors in the animation, audiovisual, multimedia or video game fields after validation from the Mifa service.

2.3.2 Press Accreditation

The "Press" accreditation is reserved for all media professionals (journalists, photographers, press officer, bloggers and influencers), capable of justifying their professional activity within cinema, audiovisual and multimedia fields, after validation by the press service.

2.3.3 Students Accreditation

The "Students" accreditation is reserved for students in the fields of cinema, television multimedia and journalism after validation from the Hospitality service (

2.3.4 "Pass grand public" Accreditation

The "Pass grand public" accreditation is reserved for residents in the Haute-Savoie Department (74).

ARTICLE 3 – Accreditation Procedure

The application for accreditation demonstrates the definitive and binding commitment from the applicant to participate in the Events.

The accreditation application is done exclusively online from 3rd February 2020 at the website:

The applicant is invited to choose the appropriate profile, the type of accreditation desired, the means of payment, and must, at the very least, fill in the fields on the accreditation formula marked with an asterisk.

The deadline for an accreditation request is 31st May 2020. Beyond this date, the applicant must apply for accreditation directly on the Events on-site.

On-site accreditations open Sunday 14th June 2020 at the Festival Welcome Area (Bonlieu Site) and Mifa Welcome Area (Impérial Palace Site).

The prices increase according to the type of accreditation and the purchase period (cf. art 4).

The Organizer examines the accreditation requests after having verified that the conditions giving right to the desired accreditation are fulfilled. This may include grounds for rejection, permanent or temporary, if incomplete communication of required documents, non-payment or any other legitimate reason, such as an existing litigation with CITIA.

The accreditation only becomes effective once the Organizer has sent the Participant the receipted invoice by e-mail.

Usage of the accreditation is personal and non-transferable. The accreditation gives no entry rights to any other events organized by the Organizer.

The validated accreditation formula and delivery of the supporting accreditation documentation by the Organizer (access badge) implies acceptance and full approval by the Participant of the current general terms and conditions.

3.1 Special Procedures

3.1.1 Press Accreditations (cf. art 2.3.2)

Journalists and photographers must include a copy of their valid press card and confirmation from their editor justifying their major articles in the field of cinema, audiovisual and multimedia executed in the last 2-years (PDF format).

Press officers must include justifications of their professional activity related to cinema or the audiovisual field (press kits in PDF format).

Bloggers or influencers must include a screen shot of their statistics with a graph of visits and the number of hits of their blog/site/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, YouTube (formats accepted: .pdf, .jpeg or .png).

3.1.2 Students Accreditations (cf. art 2.3.3)

Students must include a copy of their student card for the current year clearly showing their first and last names, school establishment and current school year (PDF format).

3.1.3 "Pass grand public" Accreditation (cf. art 2.3.4)

A residency certificate for the Haute-Savoie Department will be required (currently valid with the applicant’s full name clearly visible) when collecting your accreditation badge.

To benefit from the reduced rate the applicant must present justification when collecting the badge. For persons under 25 years old: ID card. For the unemployed, RSA recipients, old-age pensioners (Aspa), persons with disabilities (AAH): justification of less than 6 months. For subscribers to Pathé, Bonlieu, Auditorium de Seynod, FOL 74: valid subcription card. In the event of absence or outdated justification the Participant will not be allowed to receive this pass and will not be able to benefit from a refund. The "Pass grand public" can be transformed into a Festival accreditation if the difference in price is paid.

ARTICLE 4 – Financial Conditions

4.1 Prices and Terms of Payment

Festival Accreditation:
65 euros from 3rd February to 31st March 2020
75 euros from 1st April to 31st May 2020
90 euros on-site

Meetings Accreditation:
210 euros from 3rd February to 31st March 2020
290 euros from 1st April to 31st May 2020
320 euros on-site

Mifa Accreditation:
410 euros from 3rd February to 3rd March 2020
490 euros from 4th to 31st March 2020
580 euros from 1st April to 31st May 2020
630 euros on-site

"Pass grand public" Accreditation:
30 euros full rate from 9th March to 31st May 2020 and on-site
18 euros reduced rate from 9th March to 31st May 2020 and on-site

Payment must be made in full by the applicant, in a single payment within 7-days from validation of the accreditation formula (except if the applicant is using a purchase order).

The following secured payment methods are accepted:

  • Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, EuroCard, Electron (Amex not accepted)

For applicants using purchase orders, they must be sent by e-mail to this address: On reception, the applicant will receive, by return e-mail, an invoice indicating the deadline for payment.

The invoices corresponding to the accreditations ordered will be sent to Participants by e-mail.

4.2 Delay Penalties

In the event of late payment, the Participant will be liable for late payment penalties at a rate equal to three times the interest rate at the legal rate of the price VAT inclusive indicated on the invoice, which will be set in motion the day after the due date on the invoice. These late penalties will be automatically and lawfully acquired by the Organizer, without any formalities or prior notice.

A lump sum recovery fee of 40 euros will be charged by the Organizer in addition to late payment penalties (article D. 441-5 of the Commercial Code).

4.3 Cancellation Requests

Any cancellation request from the Participant must be sent by e-mail to the Organizer to this address: before 31st May 2020. Refunds will be paid after the Event.

Any cancellation request will incur a 20% handling fee of the accreditation price VAT included.

After 31st May 2020 and once the legal 14-day withdrawal period has passed since the purchase date, the Participant remains liable for the full amount of his/her order and the sums previously paid shall remain vested in the Organizer by way of compensation.

No cancellation requests or refunds shall be considered for accreditations purchased on-site.

Concerning the "Pass grand public" accreditation, in the event of absence or an outdated justification during badge collection, the Participant will not be able to collect this badge and cannot benefit from a refund. The accreditation "Pass grand public" may be transformed into a Festival accreditation if the difference in cost is paid.

ARTICLE 5 – Badge and Access

Each accredited Participant will receive a badge from the Organizer that will give him/her access to the Event(s) for which he/she is accredited for.

The badge is personal and cannot under any condition be lent, transferred or exchanged.

In the event of loss or theft, the Organizer may issue a duplicate badge that will be re-invoiced to the Participant: 15 euros for a "Pass grand public", 30 euros for a Festival, Meetings or Mifa accreditation.

Access to the Sites is effectuated by badge control: badge scanning or visual monitoring.

ARTICLE 6 – Security

The Participant is required to take note of and respect all security measures imposed by the public authorities, the administration of the various Sites and the Organizer.

Likewise, the Participant is required to carefully respect the internal measures specific to the Events or any policy action specified by the Organizer or any competent authority.

ARTICLE 7 – Publicity

Any form of publicity other than those using the material available from the Organizer and whose insertion and posting rights have been paid beforehand according to the rates in effect, is prohibited.

In addition, the Participant undertakes not to distribute any promotional material (flyers, posters, brochures, prospectuses, stickers, etc.) within the Sites’ premises and their immediate surroundings, without prior written permission from the Organizer.

ARTICLE 8 – The Organizer’s Material and Contents

The Organizer provides catalogues, programs, Internet sites and a downloadable mobile phone application dedicated to the Events for the Participants’ use.

The Organizer is the owner and publisher of this material, publishes them and ensures their distribution, with the exception of content published by the Participants on the online community, of which the Organizer is the host. This material is protected and as such, the Participant cannot use them in any way whatsoever without prior written permission from the Organizer.

All texts, videos, images, insignia, data, applications or IT features published on the Organizer’s material, with the exception of those submitted by the Participant, are the property of the Organizer. For this reason, the Participant may not, and must not, in any case reproduce, delete, distribute, concede, and/or exploit wholly or partially, in any way whatsoever, without prior written consent from the Organizer or rights holders, at the risk of being held liable.

ARTICLE 9 – Deferment or Cancellation of the Event

In the event of deferment or cancellation of the Event by the Organizer due to a force majeure, the Organizer shall promptly notify the Participants.

The sums collected by the Organizer will be returned to the Participants without the possibility of claiming any additional compensation.

Considered as cases of force majeure: Developing situation, sanitary, climatic, economic, political or social, at a local, national and international level:

  • not reasonably foreseeable at the time of communication of the Event to the Participants;
  • beyond the Organizer’s control;

And which, either makes the Event impossible to host, or entails the risk of disturbances or disorders likely to seriously affect the organization and smooth running of the Event, or the security of the property and persons.

If the restriction is temporary, fulfilment of the obligation is suspended unless the resulting delay justifies termination of the contract. If the restriction is permanent, the contract is automatically terminated and the parties are released from their obligations under the conditions provided for in Articles 1351 and 1351-1 of the Code Civil.

ARTICLE 10 – Image Rights

The Participants are informed that the Organizer may take photographs of them and/or voice recordings in the context of documenting the Events. 

By participating in the Events, the Participants expressly authorize the Organizer to fix, reproduce and communicate their image, and/or their voice, to the public.

This authorization is granted to the Organizer free of charge for the entire world and without time limits, for communication purposes, on all known and unknown material to date, by any existing or future means and notably by any electronic communication networks (Internet).

The Participant may withdraw his/her authorization at any moment by writing an e-mail to the Organizer at: or letter to this address: DPO, CITIA c/o Conservatoire d’art et d’histoire – 18 avenue du Trésum CS 50038 – FR-74001 Annecy Cedex.

Participants that wish to take pictures and/or audio recordings of Participants during the Events must request prior authorization from the Organizer. The Participants will make their personal case of the necessary authorizations and guarantee the Organizer of any appeal and/or claims of any third party on the basis of image rights.

ARTICLE 11 – Data Protection – Collection and use of Data

The Participants are informed that CITIA, as Events Organizer and responsible for the processing as defined by the amended Act of 6th January 1978, collects, processes and stores personal data that concerns them to enable their participation at the Events.

The Participants agree to provide the Organizer with the following personal data deemed indispensable for their registration, to their participation at the Events and to access the Sites: Civility, First Name, Last Name, Country of Residence, Mobile Number, E-mail Address, Photo, Profession.

The Participants may also expressly consent to receiving information from the Organizer and/or its partners by ticking the box provided for this purpose when they connect for the first time to their personal space on Annecy Network.

The personal data collected are strictly intended for the Organizer, their service-providers, their partners and to the Participants for the sole purpose of achieving the intentions set out above.

The sub-contractors, service-providers, partners and other Participants are required to respect the confidentiality and security of the personal data and only use them in the context of carrying out their mission as sub-contractor and service-provider. The Organizer guarantees the Participants that their personal data thus collected will not be disclosed to any unauthorized third parties without their prior consent. The Participants’ personal data are conserved by the Organizer for the necessary length of time to achieve the purposes for which they were collected, and in any event within a 3-year limit after the last contact.

In accordance with the legislation and the regulations in force, the Participants benefit from a right of access and rectification, a right to refuse on legitimate grounds, a right to erase and limit personal data, and a right to define guidelines on the fate of personal data after their death.

They also benefit from a right to data recovery and portability in the cases provided for by law. To exercise their rights they are required to write to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) by e-mailing to: or by letter to this address: DPO, CITIA c/o Conservatoire d’art et d’histoire – 18 avenue du Trésum CS 50038 – FR-74001 Annecy Cedex. They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).

ARTICLE 12 – Non-compliance and Sanction

Any breach of the provisions of these current general terms and conditions will result in the immediate (temporary or permanent) exclusion of the Participant, without accreditation refund or any other sum that the Participant will have paid to the Organizer.

This is most prominently the case for non-compliance of security regulations, public order and the police.

In any event, once a breach committed by the Participant has been confirmed, the Organizer will have the right to terminate the accreditation contract without summons or formalities, without prejudice to compensation that may be reclaimed by the Participant.

ARTICLE 13 – Election of Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

By express agreement between the parties, the current terms and conditions and the resulting transactions are governed by French law. 

In the event of difficulty concerning the interpretation of this present document, only the French version of these Regulations is authentic.

The Participant refrains from seizing the Courts before having, beforehand, implemented an amical appeal to the Organizer.

Any disputes to which the current general terms and conditions and resulting agreements could give rise, regarding validity, interpretation, execution, resolution, consequences and their aftermath, will be submitted to the competent courts of Annecy.
