Midnight Specials: WTF2023
"When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth", Arthur Conan Doyle used to say. The cinema, a window to the world, must represent it and stretch the boundaries of expression. Thirteen different approaches and eleven nationalities share the throne in the latest WTF2023 opus.
It will be a celebration of human relationships: an uncle, babysitter for the day, will swallow his nephew despite himself; a devilish grandmother will warp the limitations of nymphomania; a young woman will track down the one who is trying to impersonate her on the web. But also, inhuman relationships: artificial intelligence will tackle reality, through a man’s insomnia or the role of a creator in this surreal art. Two high-octane video clips will give spunk to this programme, a film by several influences will spawn possessed, obsessed monsters, a three-headed creature will drive calmly along the highway of its thoughts, and lastly, an unconventional Spanish family will incubate a strange egg laid the night before.
Nothing will leave you indifferent: surprise, laughter and stupor will be your only weapons!
