René Laloux, a visionary director of French animation films, marked the history of the seventh art and science fiction. His three feature films have been an inspiration to many directors worldwide.

After Fantastic Planet (1981) and before Gandahar (1987), to the delight of fans of the genre René Laloux released Time Masters (1982), based on a book by Stefan Wul called The Orphan of Perdide and magnificently illustrated by Mœbius (Jean Giraud).
