Bistro Sauvage X Florent Grattery

  1. Overview
  2. Description

Delve into the work of Florent Grattery with the show at the Bistro Sauvage, 10th to 15th June 2024!

Florent Grattery is a director and illustrator, graduate of Paris Arts Décoratifs, brimming with creativity.

Having fallen head over heels for animation as a child, he quickly grew into a prolific artist, working simultaneously with various media.

He began with film, participating in Season 3 of En sortant de l’école and directing Le Bestiaire ou cortège d’Orphée. He likewise directed two music videos: Seven Tides for the WHY MUD group in 2016, winning the best clip prize at the Festival national du film d’animation de Rennes Métropole, plus Héros de la ville for The Pirouettes in 2017.

Then he worked as a press illustrator (Revue XXI, Usbek & Rica), for cultural venues (Musée Bourdelle) or publishing houses (La Naissance du monde en 100 épisodes, Bayard).

And finally, he was director of animated projects, developing Keiko and the Floating World, a fantasy short about the Fukushima disaster, Le Trou du diable, a sebum-soaked teen road movie, and the feature film Le Cheval fou, a spaghetti western putting a new spin on the unicorn myth. In 2023, he participated in the group show, Rencontres Sylvestres, at the Barbier gallery in Paris.

For the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival the Bistro Sauvage X Florent Grattery show exhibits – in an off-beat Annecy bar – the slightly out-of-frame production of this artist with long-stewed ideas which shape his commissioned and written work with a flair for conjuring the strange out of the real.

So note the date 10th-15th June 2024 for the Bistro Sauvage X Florent Grattery exhibit, to delve more into this artist’s creative methods and work.
